The Client
Fowler Welch is one of the UK’s leading food supply chain specialists, providing temperature-controlled logistics services for retailers, growers, importers and manufacturers across the country. The company operates a nationwide network of distribution centres and plays a critical role in ensuring fresh produce and fast-moving goods reach supermarket shelves efficiently.
Fowler Welch is part of Culina Group, one of the country’s largest privately owned logistics providers, delivering warehousing, distribution and supply chain services from a network of sites across the UK and Ireland. Signs Now have worked with Culina Group for many years, supporting several of their businesses with signage and branding solutions.
The Project
The operations team at Fowler Welch contacted Signs Now UK to help address safety and directional traffic management challenges at one of their large, open sites. With frequent vehicle movements, including HGVs and delivery vehicles, clear signage was required to guide drivers, reinforce safety procedures and ensure smooth traffic flow across the facility.
Because the site is highly exposed to the elements, the signage also needed to be extremely durable and capable of withstanding harsh weather conditions. To meet these requirements, the Signs Now team produced a series of high-quality external signs using 3mm aluminium composite material. This material is ideal for outdoor environments because it is lightweight, exceptionally strong and highly weather resistant.
Using our flatbed printer, we printed directly onto the panels, allowing us to accurately reproduce the Pantone colours specified in Fowler Welch’s brand guidelines. A gloss laminate was then applied to protect the graphics and deliver a long-lasting finish backed by our five-year warranty.
The finished signs were installed across the site using a range of fixing methods depending on location. Some panels were mounted flush to walls or cladding using screws and caps for a clean, professional finish, while others were fitted with sign rail systems to allow secure installation onto posts and fencing. The result is a clear, durable signage system that improves visibility, safety and navigation across the entire site.
