In the 21st century we have all become dependent on IT and it clearly carries so many benefits. However, it has also created a global network of cyber criminal gangs who seek to invade and control our IT systems for their profit. There are so many stories of companies losing control of their systems and either being pushed out of business or being forced to pay large ransom sums to regain control.
Signs Now has been working with an IT company, Superfast IT, for many years and we have developed a partnership to maximise the protections we can install in our IT systems and procedures to minimise the risk of a cyber attack hurting our business. This includes controls within the system and procedures for our staff to minimise the risk of a cyber attack.
Signs Now has just gained an accreditation for Cyber Essentials. This means that our systems have been examined and tested to confirm that all the recommended system controls and procedures are all in place. It is estimated that this reduces our risk of a cyber attack by 98.5%. The journey does not end here and we will continue to secure our systems as we go forward.
